bridge-utils software package provides Utilities for configuring the Linux Ethernet bridge, you can install in your Ubuntu 16.04 LTS (Xenial Xerus) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bridge-utils
bridge-utils is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bridge-utils package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bridge-utils *
You will get with bridge-utils package name, version, architecture and description in a table
